You are good for my soul Andy A blessing to my heart … Thankyou!
Three years ago I felt like I was going down for the last time. It wasn’t so much that life was bad or things were falling apart, but for various reasons on the inside I was imploding. There were issues that I had been struggling with for many, many years. I had tried all sorts of ways to deal with them and had not been able to find release. When I first met Andy about three years ago I was feeling quite desperate. With his help things are completely different now and I am confidently facing life and passionately pursuing my purpose. Andy has been focally instrumental in helping me ‘find my heart again’ and ‘get my strength back’. I am very, very grateful!
I just wanted to inform that things are better than ever between me and (name withheld)
and, without being complacent, we feel we now have the tools to cope with any curve ball life may throw at us.
We will never thank you too much for your help and we hope we can meet in the future on a non-professional basis.
We have been married 32 years and have battled through many of the difficult situations that life inevitably brings.
Just prior to our day with Andy and Jane we had faced together some tremendously damaging underlying patterns of the past 30 years.
Andy’s framework for journey through the tough parts of a marriage contained such real truth that we were able to easily identify our journey together. We now have a map to work with, a better understanding of ourselves and tools to internalise the changes we have been making. We know the day has equipped us with language and insights to continue tending our relationship into the future.
We are very grateful for Jane and Andy’s honest and vulnerable sharing of their own marriage. It not only provided a working example of a growing relationship but helped make the day a warm, safe haven in which to share ourselves.
I have found Andy Pocock to be a counsellor who is wise and compassionate. He helped provide real options and solutions to my challenges and always encouraged me to follow through to success. I highly recommend him as a counsellor. – Solicitor – Brisbane
Two days before Christmas 2011 my son finally agreed to talk to a councilor about his drinking, drug taking and spiraling behavior.
I rang many people only to be told their offices were closed for the holidays and would not be able to see my son until a week into the New Year.
Desperate for help, and frightened my son would close down again I continued to ring the recommendations given to me.
Finally I rang one of Andy’s offices and he was gracious enough to see my son the next day.
I was terrified my son would not turn up for his appointment but he did and took an immediate like to Andy.
My son told me in a phone call, after the meeting he felt a huge weight of his shoulders. He talked to me openly for the first time in years.
Andy has been able to reach parts of my son that have been closed down for years. He has gradually and compassionately peeled back the layers, helped my son deal
With his fears and supported him beyond his position, researching rehabs and physically meeting with a director on a Sunday as well as accompanying my son to AA meetings after researching the most suitable location.
I can see the man emerging in my son. He has hope, confidence, strength and respect. He is getting his life together and continues to have a strong and respectful relationship with Andy.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you………..I now believe completely in miracles and Angels.
Andy creates a safe haven, a relaxed and calm atmosphere, conducive to listening and allowing free and meaningful dialogue. Totally respectful of your challenges, Andy will work with you ‘one on one’, to develop and put into effect, a beneficial program. My self esteem and confidence returned, due to Andy’s genuine concern and unconditional care. I felt more like a friend than a patient, during our journey together.
Andy Pocock has been my counsellor for the past 8 months. After 9 years of seeing psychologists, psychiatrist’s counsellors and doctors Andy was the first professional person to unlock the anguish and low self-esteem I had harbored within me for more than 10 years.
I walked out of an abusive 24 year marriage to a man I had been with since I was 19. He was all I had known. I left that marriage believing I was nothing. A few years latter I was bashed by my daughter….I drowned in post-traumatic stress disorder and stumbled through my 40s without ever feeling like I was alive.
Then I began counselling sessions with Andy. I cried a lot in the early sessions, I was grieving for what I had lost in my family. Andy’s gentleness and compassion, his intuitive understanding and amazing insight filtered through to my sub-conscious and very slowly I began to grow, to like myself again. Yes, I had some falls along the way….and Andy was there at the end of the phone or fitting me in for an unscheduled consultation when I was particularly low.
In our sessions, Andy equipped me with the skills and tools to not only survive but also to thrive. Mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy and positive psychology gradually moved from discussions and exercises in our sessions to strategies and coping mechanisms that I incorporated into my daily life.
Andy taught me to redefine my sense of worth and purpose. He empowered me to take control, confront and challenge my fears head on. At all times I felt safe with his counselling and methodology.
I am blessed to have been counselled by Andy Pocock. He re-ignited my ability to laugh and enjoy the warmth of the sun again. – Susan
